Scott Messer is the Commodities Program Manager for United Launch Alliance (ULA). He is responsible for developing or finding low cost and reliable sources of commodities, like helium, for ULA’s Atlas and Vulcan launch vehicle programs.
Messer has 31 years of experience in the launch business where he has led efforts to qualify a new launch vehicle stage, has led proposal teams to win over $4.5bn in sales, and was the Program Manager for 41 successful launches. Messer is passionate about developing strategic partnerships and teams to help fulfill ULA’s mission to Save Lives, Explore the Universe, and Connect the World.
He received a BS in Civil Engineering from Utah State University and a MS and Ph.D, in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech.
