Milan Sarkar is the current Secretary General of Asia Industrial Gases Association (AIGA). AIGA was formed in the year 2002 in Singapore as a non profit association of Industrial Gases Majors. Its’ mission is to promote health, safety and environment in the Industrial Gases Industry in the region.

He is a professionally qualified Chemical Engineer and held various positions over 35 years with multiple multinational Industrial Gases Majors in India rising up to the level of Vice President before assuming the current role in AIGA in Feb 2014,. His work experience  included technical, managerial and leadership position in the areas  of Operations & Engineering, Plant Commissioning, Distribution and Logistics, Customer Service, HSE, Quality Systems , Sustainable Development, LEAN-Six Sigma, Business Acquisition & Integration and Technology Transfer.

He also held the position of honorary Chairman of Technical Committee with Gas Industries Association (GIA), India since its’ formation in 2009 till early 2014.
