Europe Industrial Gas Summit 2020: Postponed
Amidst the continuing uncertainty surrounding the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) and the well documented impact this is having on all business travel, gasworld has taken the difficult decision to postpone its Europe Industrial Gas Summit 2020 in Budapest until further notice.
The Summit had been due to take place on 2nd & 3rd June in Budapest, Hungary. It will now be rescheduled to a later date, still to be confirmed.
gasworld fully intends to stage the event, maintain its current theme and agenda, and stay as true to the Summit’s original plans as possible. However, a date cannot yet be determined due to the ongoing – and worsening – spread of Covid-19 and the impact this is having on industry, economy and the individual(s).
Hungary banned public gatherings of more than 100 people indoors, and 500 people outdoors, last week with immediate effect. These restrictions remain in place until further notice, the country said, adding that it expects the epidemic’s impact to last for months rather than weeks.
gasworld will confirm the rescheduled dates for its Europe Industrial Gas Summit 2020 as soon as there is a clearer picture on the containment of Covid-19 in Europe and the resulting restrictions on travel and public/business gatherings.
We are keenly aware of our responsibilities as an established events organiser for many years, and we have been monitoring the outbreak of coronavirus (Covid-19) on a daily basis. Our staff, speaker and customer safety is paramount and despite our commitment to calm and caution rather than panic and alarm, in light of the continued outbreak of this virus and its evident impact on business travel we have taken the decision to reschedule the event in the interests of all involved.
We are committed to doing the event justice, but also doing our speakers, sponsors and delegates justice by providing the kind of event they would expect from us. Our aim is always to provide the maximum business opportunities, and a forum for discussion and debate with as many key stakeholders as possible.
We are keenly aware of the impact of current event postponements around the world and what this is likely to mean for an intense events calendar for the industry for the second half of the year; we are, therefore, working to identify the best possible dates for a rescheduling of the event. Please bear with us while we do so, until further information is available, and contact the gasworld events team directly for more information.
